The ASI CoC Standard V2 specifies the requirements for creating a chain of custody for materials produced and processed through the value chain to different downstream sectors. The implementation of the ASI CoC standard links validated practices in the continuous steps of the supply chain (certified according to ASI performance standards) with products produced by ASI certified entities. The CoC standard also confirms that appropriate policies and due diligence processes have been established to identify and address key issues such as corruption, human rights violations, materials from conflict affected and high-risk areas in the supply chain, and to support responsible procurement.

About ASI

ASI is a non=profit program dedicated to the development and certification of aluminum value chain standards. ASI's vision is to maximize the contribution of aluminum to a sustainable society. Our mission is to identify and collaborate in promoting responsible production, procurement, and corporate governance of aluminum. The center of ASI certification is the review of two voluntary standards: ASI Performance Standards and ASI Chain of Custody Standards. The ASI performance standards define environmental, social, and governance principles and standards aimed at addressing sustainability issues in the aluminum value chain. The ASI Chain of Custody (CoC) standard is a supplement to the performance standards of ASI and is voluntarily certified for ASI members. The CoC standard sets regulatory requirements for the circulation of aluminum materials, including ASI aluminum products produced and processed through the value chain and applied to different downstream fields. By implementing the CoC standard for ASI, a connection has been established between the supply chain under ASI performance standards and the products produced by ASI entities, in order to promote the sustainability of the entire aluminum value chain.

ASI currently has over 360 participants worldwide, including representative bauxite mining, alumina refining, aluminum  smelting, semi=finished product manufacturing, aluminum products, component manufacturing, consumer and commercial  product (including automotive industry, construction and packaging) manufacturers, as well as some industry associations and other supporters.
